Meet the team: Katie Stroud
Meet the team: Katie Stroud is our Business Development & Revenue Manager. Katie heads up the Sales & Events and Marketing teams. From event contracts, meetings and site visits to spreadsheets and marketing campaigns, Katie has busy days! Today, she tells us more about herself and what she likes. What’s your favourite food?
This is a tricky question for me as I love food, and eating out is one of my absolute favourite things. I love Vietnamese food. It’s so delicious, and I love that cleanliness of flavours. I also adore a curry, either Indian or Thai, and for comfort you cannot beat a big bowl of pasta as let’s be honest, carbs are life!
What’s the most memorable moment of your career?
Producing a film festival for a major airline showcasing their inflight tech, sponsored by a champagne house, with bespoke menus created to reflect the films.
How much time a day/week do you spend on Excel?
Far too much, I love a spreadsheet! I’m absolutely sure my team would prefer it if I spent less time on Excel!
If you weren’t working in events what would you be doing?
I would be working in an Art Gallery, I have no idea what I would be doing, but my degree is in the History of Art, so that would be my dream. Either that, or I’ve always wanted to sail around the world.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I really enjoy cooking and I’m happiest pottering around my kitchen trying out new recipes. I really like this recipe: Chicken in a pot with lemon and orzo pasta.
What surprised you the most at Friends House?
The wide variety of clients we work with, not just the Third sector and universities, but finance and tech companies as well as the government.
Do you have a hidden talent?
I don’t think I do but since becoming a mum I have become very good at holding conversations with three different people at once!
What’s your favourite quote?
